Nigel Thompson is one of a few swiss army knives in the KYW Newsradio newsroom. He started as a part-time general assignment reporter in the Fall of 2023 and has covered some of the region and country's biggest stories over the last two years. He's also a writer and editor at the newsdesk and also dabbles on the digital side of the operation.

Prior to working at KYW Newsradio, Nigel was a political reporter, deputy editor and then the managing editor at AL DIA News, the city's largest and longest-running bilingual English-Spanish publication.

He is a graduate of Temple University, where he got his Bachelor's in English and Spanish in 2018 and then his Master's in Journalism in 2019.

Nigel grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania, but now lives in Philadelphia.
