ARIANE DATIL
The Philadelphia Inquirer

Ariane Datil is The Philadelphia Inquirer’s first Social Video Host. In that role, she creates original lifestyle and culture videos about what makes Philly an amazing place to live, work and play while spotlighting Inquirer reporting across social platforms, helping the audience see how that work connects to their world.

Before joining The Inquirer, Ariane was a TV host and news reporter for nearly a decade in cities including Washington, D.C and Sacramento. Most recently she was the National Host of VERIFY, a fact-checking brand that combated the spread of misinformation online.

Ariane’s reporting on the aftermath of the 2019 earthquakes in Puerto Rico, the summer of social justice protests in D.C. following the murder of George Floyd and a commentary on pageantry earned her 3 regional Emmys. In 2018, she helped launch a new evening newscast at WUSA9 that won an Edward R. Murrow for innovation.

Ariane is a graduate of Wake Forest University as well as The Fashion Institute of Technology and a proud alum of Council Rock High School South and Albert M. Greenfield Elementary school.
