Chris Blackman is an award-winning broadcast veteran with over 30-years of experience as a writer, producer and news executive. He is the owner of Blackman Media Consulting, which he started in 2012.
He joined Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication February of 2024 as Director of Career Services.
He ran the news operation at NBC Philadelphia for 12-years as Vice President of News. Prior to NBC Philadelphia Blackman spent 4 ½ years as Vice President of News and Programming at CNBC Asia in Hong Kong and Singapore. His accomplishments include two Midwest Emmy awards for news writing, an Asian Television Award for programming, and being named one of FTV’s “Top 10 Best People in TV News” in 2010. He has mentored and developed top talent including NBC “Meet The Press” Moderator Kristen Welker, former ABC News and CNBC Correspondent Aditi Roy and NBC Philadelphia News Anchors Rosemary Connors and Keith Jones.
