With a keen focus on politics, Lauren covers everything from local races, including the competition to become Philadelphia’s 100th mayor, to Pennsylvania’s influential role in national elections. You can catch her in-depth interviews with politicians, voters, and political analysts on NBC10 @Issue, airing Sunday mornings at 11:30 a.m. Additionally, Lauren hosts Battleground Politics with Lauren Mayk, a digital show available on NBCPhiladelphia.com and various podcast platforms.

Lauren’s connection to the Philadelphia region runs deep. “This region has special meaning to me and to my family,” she shares. “I was born here while my father was working as a reporter at WCAU. After college, I returned to work at the Philadelphia Inquirer, and I was thrilled to come back again to join the NBC10 team.”

Before her tenure at NBC10, Lauren earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan, where she also served as Editor In Chief of The Michigan Daily. Her career began as a South Jersey correspondent for the Philadelphia Inquirer, followed by a role as a business reporter at The Sarasota Herald-Tribune. Lauren’s diverse experience includes television news anchoring at SNN in Sarasota, Florida, and later at WFLA in Tampa, where she covered political, consumer, and investigative stories.
